LYNDYN AND KARA PASHA. TUESDAY’S BIG BOUT. Alex. Lundyn (Finland), who is to meet Kara Pasha, “The Terrible Turk.” at the Opera House on Tuesday next, in what promises to be one of the most sensational wrestling bouts of the year, arrived in Hawera last evening. During his ten years as a professional wrestler Luhdyn has been in practically every country in Europe, besides giving exhibitions of his strength and skill in Japan and China and competing with some of the world’s i best-known ju-jitsu exponents. Lundyn had several unenviable experiences in China in the wrestling ring, and on two occasions had to make liis escape as best lie could irom the iury of mobs when he defeated the local champions, and was pelted with bottles and

stones and chased to his hotel. While in the East, Lundyn appeared in several “strong man”' acts, and, according to newspaper reports, his feature exhibitions were driving live-inch nails through two-inch planks with his bare fist, towing a. seven-sea ter ear along with a rope~lield by bis teeth, and holding with his arms two carls running in reverse gear. Lundyn came to Australia from Japan and there participated in numerous bouts, eventually coming to Auckland. In the Dominion he has beaten “Scotty” McDougnl on points, Ebert at Auckland by two falls to one, lost to Ebert at Stratford when unable to continue through injuries, beat Eansam Klian by two straight falls at Auckland, and. lost to Kara Pasha at Dunedin. In this bout neither secured a fall, but Lundyn retired with an injured back. Lundyn has a. wide respect for Kara Pasha’s skill and classes the Turk, as one of the most scientific mat-men in New Zealand or Australia at the present time. Both wrestle about 12st- 121 b and Lundyn considers that they are very evenly matched.
