SYDNEY, Aug. 20. The British Rugby footballers were accorded a civic reception at- Sydney to-day The Lord Mayor and Mr R. Weaver (Minister of Mines) heartily welcomed them on behalf of the city and Government. Both were confident that the visit of the Englishmen would help to. unite Australia still umpire closely to the dear Old Land. They had noted with interest the great stir the games had caused in the Dominion and predicted that feeling would run just as high here. Messrs Baxter and Prentice made happy responses.
