JEWELLER’S DEATH

EVIDENCE AT INQUEST. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association ) HAMILTON, Aug. 5. The circumstances of the death of Lionel Joseph Bcllve, 32 years of age, a jeweller in Victoria Street, Hamilton, who was found dead in liis shop yesterday, were investigated by the coroner to-day. It was shown in evidence that the oody was found lying on a mattress on the floor with the end of a gas tube iu the mouth. Near the body was a rifle with a live cartridge in the breech and the trigger cocked. A note was found intimating an intention to commit suicide. Detective White, in evidence, stated that Bellvo bad been interviewed on Friday with an alleged crime which he denied.
