SHOOTING TARGETS
A problem: in p atriotism The 'ancient, city of Tronclihjeni, the offl ecclesiastical centre of Scandinavia'. and the! gate to “the land! of the midnight sun,” is in a dilemma. There arc a few modest shooting galleries in the town, and the targets have the shape of figures portraying prominent person a ges from the old German Kaiser era, suc-h as Wilhelm IL, ex-Urcwn Prince Wilhelm, the King of Saxony, the Grand Duke of Baden, Bismarck etc., all in full-dress parade. 'Seine patriotic Germans, - misunderstanding the situation, and believing that the shooting galleries (were lrot-houses for serious anti-Berman —and especially for anti-royalist —propaganda, have sent- an ultimatum to the tourist organisations of Trondhjem to the effe'et that if the targets are not removed immediately the city of Trondhjem will be boycotted by all German tourists this summer. The associations have now made overtures to the proprietors of the shooting ranges, only to receive the surprising reply that the ’targets were all “made in German v. ’ ’
