Me,re than 50 years a worker in the i mine, 52 years a local preacher and 50 years married. Such is the resold of Mr Thomas George Johnson, who with' Mrs Johnson celebrated his ,golden wedling recently in the North of England.. they were married at St. John’s Oliurc-h, Mams feels. Mir Johnson began- work when he was line years of age at an Old Boyne Pit, bao'g'ley M«or, for 8d a day. He retired 1 diree years ago. As a. United Methodist le has been a'local preacher and church , rocker in the Durham Circuit, and! •connected with that body at Oorusay Colliery. , . The Durham Circuit, at then- quarterly meeting, handed him an illuminated address and long service connexicnal certificate. Mrs Johnson has also been a church worker all her life.
