SETTLERS FAR EWEL LE J). Tlie Rawhitiroa Hall was well filled one evening last week wlieii the residents gathered to bid farewell to their factory manager (Mr Terry) and also Mbs A. Heron, who has been a resident of the district for many yeans. During the evening Mr fi. Knuckey spoke of Miss Heron's good work during her long stay in the district, and presented her on behalf of the residents with a handsome afternoon tea set.
Mr Cocker spoke of Mr Terry's capabilities as factory manager, stating that all were sorry at losing so fine a man. He also mentioned the good work done by Mrs Terry and their daughters, who were always ready to help in any way for the benefit of the district.
Mr Cocker presented Mr and Mrs Terry with a dinner set as a taken of the esteem in which they were held and Misses Eva ae.d Evelyn Terry were the recipients of a fancy cup, saucer an<l plate each. The prizes for the euchre were won by Mr A. MhoLniiehlin and Airs Clernhoefer. while the consolation prizes were won by Mrs J. MncLauehlin and Mr .T. Foreman.
