ARRESTED FOR- DRUNKENNEISIS DRINKING BOUT SEQUEL. '“This man is a stranger to the district and has evidently been on a drinking .bout. During July he drew some £6O from his Post Office Savings Bank account,” said Sergeant Henry in the Hawera Police 'Court to-day, when Harry Tate, a middle-aged man, appeared before .Mr J. M. Townsend, •T.P., on two charges of drunkenness. ' Defendant was first arrested on Saturday evening at the Hawera railway station and was later released on bail. Ho was to have’ been dealt with (by the court yesterday, but (was again arrested in the town on a charge of drunkenness during the morning and was not in a fit state to appear, said tlic iSergeant. On July 29 he drew the sum oif £l6 from the Hew Plymouth Post Office.- - -When arrested on August 2 he had £1 11s in his possession. Advising defendant to seek employment, which, would keep his attentions engaged to -better .purpose, the Bench entered a- fine of 10s on the first, charge and. 20s on- the second charge.
