PROPOSED CHEESE PREMIUM VOLUNTARY POOL SCHEME ■OONiFERiENCE ,A T~R AWHRA Representatives of the Taranaki Federation of lOoopcratdve Dairy Factories met at Hawera to-day to discuss proposals to establish! a voluntary cheese pool scheme in the province, to enable a premium, to be paid on finest ■ grade produce. IMr T. A. Winks, chairman of the federation, presided over an attendance of approximately 90 delegates. An! apology for unavoidable absentee was received from Mr H-ine, acting-ehairmian of the Dairy Board. The executive’s suggestion to the meeting was an.arrangement to provide for two pools* one at Moturoa and .the other at Pa-tea, unpasteurised cheese to be in a- separate pool embracing the whole of Taranaki. The scheme was fro be for one season and the levy on all Cheese fro be 2s per crate.
That, cheese grading 901 -points carry a premium of ,5(1l per crate; 91 points lOd -per crate; 9M ; points, Tsfl!j -92 points, 20d; 93 points, 3-od.
That the New Zealand Dairy Board administer the selvcime as outlined by Mr Brash.
It, was . considered by the executive that, if possible, there should be two pools, but if sufficient support was not forthcoming in North Taranaki, the federation members sending to Moturoa, would! be invited to join in the Baton, pool, continuing to send their produce to Moturoa as usual -for grading-
