ARTIST’S FRAUDS
SENTENCE ON J. C. MILLET. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright). PARIS, June 17. Jean Charles Millet, grandson of the mu'liter J. I’. Millet, charged at the instance of the Thompson Art Gallery. London, with passing worthless cheques, was sentenced to a years imprisonment. Joan Charles Millet shocked the ait world last month bv confessing that be had added the initials of his grandfather to pictures of his own production and selling them. As the business grew Millet cnioloved other artists to assist him, and the output of faked metures since 1923 was estimated at between 3009 and 4000.
