BIG PRIZE'S TO SOUTHLAND H AAV ERA LADY WINS £lO. (3y Telegram—Vre.ss Association.) /WELLINGTON, May IS. The 'Aviation art unioni was drawn on Saturday in the Town iHall concert chamber under police supervision. The first prize went to Invercargill, the second to 'Southland, and the third to Dannevirke. The highest Taranaki name is that of Mr J. B. 'Carr, AV aitara, who won £25. There was a good number of people present- to- witness the drawing. Each ticket, has a letter and five figures. Six men were told off each with a bag containing marbles. ‘One of the bags contained, as many letters as the tickets had been divided into divisions, and the other five bag's contained marbles with numbers .from one to nought. These six men all sat at a long tabic, the man with the bag of letters being on the extreme left. The drawer took a marble from his bag and called the letter, which was recorded by another official oii paper. The drawer then followed down the table taking a marble from each bag and calling the figure as he took it out of the bag. Not until he had taken from the last bag could the number be known. \\ hen tho; full number had been built reference was made to the number on the butt of the ticket and the name of the successful person announced.
