THE! WEEK-END FIXTURE

Most of the visiting, horses for the Hawera trotting meeting were on the track this morning, and it is noticeable each year that a better looking class is attending. The track was in perfect order —in Tact, it has never previously been in such an excellent condition. Caballero and Rangitira worked a i-ound mile and on the dirt. Tamahine, Bingen Crest and Alodern .tit went a mile and a,-half on the outside of the course proper. Bright Light, a two-year-old by Worthy Bingen, showed great promise. Warplane- and All Red covered a ’-risk mile and a-half on the course

:roper, Warplane conceding All Red about 48 yards and finishing strongly m exceptionally good work-out. Warren ore worked two miles, and Master Cute was sent over a mile on the dirt.

Olive Nelson trotted very strongly over two miles, and Brian Bingen went well over a- mile and n-half. Miss Led a worked a mile and a-half on the course proper and was picked up by Huia Maid over the last halfmile in a. good piece of work. .Brent Zoloek worked sti-ongly in hobbles. Logan’s Pride, Gold Treasure and Gumdigger finished in that order over one and a-.hnl f miles.

Ell Direct went very strongly over two miles, and Octochord went very pleasing in the grass. Rlangihuia and Ca-pilano worked a mile on the grass and finished strongly n good istyle, Harold Logan and Myrtle Dillon covered a mile and a-half at a good strong pace. Bright Light and Ando Spray went well together over a mile and a-lialf, Bright Light finishing slightly in front. Gang Awa was sent over a mile and a-half and was carried along by r Short Story oven- the first six and picked tip by High Sea over the last six, finishing full of vim. Manco and Ngahuia worked a good mile. Lady Author, Good Lady and Wakefield covered a mile and a-half, finishing in that order. Lady Author worked exceedingly well. Tumatnkuru was good over a mile! and a-half and went well. Reliance was scratched at 5 p.m. yesterday -for the Hawera Trotting Cun. while Rev Logan was scratched at 2.40 p.m. to-day. Home Voyage.. will be a defector in the Mannia Handicap, his. scratching time being 2.40 p.m. • today.
