Mr It. J. Knuckey, of Eltham. returned on Tuesday from a week’s holiday at Russell. The Mayor of Eltham (Air I. J. Bridger) and All’s Bridger returned to Eltham yesterday after a holiday in North Auckland.

Mr and Airs M. Squire, of Hawera, returned yesterday after a. motor trip to the Auckland district.

Messrs R. J. Knuckey, H. Forsyth and T. A. Winks returned to Eltham yesterday after a holiday spent in Russell.

Air J. W. -Macdonald, Public Trustee, and Aliss (Macdonald, were in Ilafivera last night and left for Auckland to-day, in order to meet Airs Macdonald on her return from Sydney. A very pleasant function took pSiace at the Ka.nonga Methodist Parsonage on Thursday last, when the members of the Methodist Ladies’ Guild .and personal friends of the guest of the evening met to do honour to Aliss M. Ivime, on the eve of her approaching marriage. The gathering took the form of a kitchen and knick-knack evening, and 1 was very much enjoyed by all present. During the evening a programme of competitions, musical items and parlour games was successfully carried out. At the close a dainty supper was served by the members of the guild. The .gifts brought to the bride-to-be were many and varied, and were graceful']v acknowledged by Miss Kime.
