The Taranaki Education Board lias decided to urge 'teachers to provide handwork displays at the South Taranaki Winter Show.

At yesterday’s meeting of the Taranaki Education Board, the chairman (Mr S. G. Smith, M.P.), Dr. Thomson and Messsr Lees and Jones were appointed to represent the board at the sittings of the Town Planning Board in Taranaki. Differences between the matron of the Taihape Hospital and the medical superintendent and two honorary surgeons has been the subject of an inquiry by a committee of the Wanganui Hospital Board. At its meeting yesterday the Hoard resolved to accept the resignations of the doctors concerned, at the .same time expressing its confidence in the matron.

A meeting of the Hawera Main School Band Committee was held last evening and various reports were received on the progress being made with, tho instrument fund. It was decided to conduct a shop day on Alay 10.
