EFFECT OF BROADCASTING. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) LONDON, Feb. 13. Alleging that the influence of broadcast religious services would be superficial and (ephemeral, tempting people to remain in their homes instead of going to church, Canon Sehvyn induced the Lower House of Convocation to pass a resolution by 48 votes to 20. requesting the president to appoint a joint committee to consider the religious value of broadcast services. Canon Sehvyn added that broadcasting was creating a. type of passive worshipper.
