There was a fair attendance at the annual meeting of members of the Ka-pong-a, Athletic Sports Club, held in iilie Oddfe-fiows’ Hall, Ivaponga, last evening. The- chair was occupied by Mr J. B isco- (president). i The balance-sheet- for the year 192829. showing receipts £232 17s lOd, expenditure £199 7s 6d, and a credit balance of £33 lOs 4d, was adoptel. The chairman remarked, on tJie improved financial position as compared witji the corresponding date last year, when there- was a debit balance of £2. The secretary was instructed to officially acknowledge the generosity of i.li» "Town Board in granting a picture entertainment in aid of the club’s funds. With a few minor alterations, the snorts programme, as drafted by a special committee, was approved and the secret ary authorised to make arrangements for its publication. An offer by Messrs R. Jef.ooa.te and J. Haminersley to donate, suitable medals for a 100 yards .handicap, confined to members of the Kaponga Football Club, was accepted with thanks. It was resolved that «l refund of gate entrance charge be made to competitors who pay 10s o-r more in nomination j fees. . . Mrs T. Evans’ fender for fruit stall e,viviles?es at the sports meeting, and the annual seven-a-side R.ughy tournament w.ais accepted. An honorarium of £lO 10s was voted to the secretary (Air A. Melville) for hi* services during the past year. It was resolved to invite tenders for i.b-v luncheon and afternoon tea booth privileges at the tournament. OFFICE-BEARERS.
