RIFLE SHOOTING.
HAW ERA DEFENCE CLUB. The Haweia Defence Rifle Club held competitions Over Itllic week-end for the trophy presented by Mr. E. J. Booth (vice-president)._ The conditions were bad, the light and wind, together with a trying mirage, being responsible for low scoring even by the more 'experienced shots In spite of the adverse conditions the 45 put up by Rifleman A. It. Elgar at 600 yards was particularly good. The match consisted of 10 shots at 400 and 600 yards, the results being as follow:

In a shoot for the Brunnette Cup, seven shots at 400, 500 and 600 yards the members faced the most tricky conditions yet experienced. The scores were as follow: 400 500 600
