LANDMARK DISAPPEARS

OLD' HOMESTEAD DESTROYED. EARLY DAY ASSOCIATION. (By Telegraph—tress Association.) CMBRIDGE, Jan. 20. A Cambridge district landmark disappeared early this afternoon, when a-n old. 13-roomed wooden homestead owned and occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Harris, at Hautapu, was totally destroyed by fire, together with the whole of the contents. The insurances on the building were £9OO and the contents £SOO. No one was within the d> welling when the outbreak occurred. The homestead was associated with the very early days of Cambridge, originally being the homestead of the late Jared Allwill.
