The Kenilworth Castle which was buffeted by a. violent South-Easter arrived at daybreak with the Prince of Wales aboard. The Governor, Administrator and Mayor arrived at nine o’clock and gave an informal welcome. The Prince inspected the guard, then drove to the war memorial at the foot of Adderley Street, after which lie drove slowly past a parade of hundreds of ex-service men to Government House.
There will be no official functions during the week’s stay. The Prince will play golf and squash racquets, attend the races and on Saturday will climb Table Mountain. There will be an informal dinner and dance to-mor-row.
The Prince is looking exceptionally well and he walked the deck vigorous I v.
