OPERA HOUSE, HA WEE A. TO-NIGHT. * .DO ÜBLE STAR. PROGRAMME. An excellent change of programme will bo presented at the Opera House, Hawera, to-night. The feature film is an all-talkie comedy-drama produced by the 'Pathe English studios. The picture is taken m Ireland, with a background of beautiful scenery. “Luciiy in Love’’ is a, comedy-drama of the racing world and features Marton Danney, the popular Irish tenor, who sings several Irish ballads in a most captivating manner. “Eucky in Love’’ is full of Irish humour and will reach the hearts of all who see it. “Presenting a galaxy of aerial and acrobatic acts by an astounding aggregation of artists assembled from all the countries of the globe exclusively for this prodigious and pretentious presentation,” Not quite so flowery as this oldtime jcircus billing ibut considerably more accurate and .sincere is the announcement of the circus specialty acts that are present in the screened performance of “tile big show” in “The Circus Kid,” EKO’s thrilling special production which will he screened as the second feature of tonight’s programme. , ’ Not only does it tell a gripping story of circus life outside of the “big top,” in which Joe E- Brown has the featured role of a lion-tamer who lias lost his “nerve,” and little Frankie Uarro plays “the kid” with Helene Costello in the leading feminine role and Lionel Belmore and Sam Nelson in other strong roles, but it also pictures a complete-circus performance. In this Poodles Haneford and liis, great bareback riding troupe are seen in the specialty that was for seven years a “headline” act with liingling Brothers’ Circus. Other notable acts in the show, which begins with the “grand entry” behind Prof. Bridell’s twenty-six °piece hand, are the DeGaro Family, aerial artists; Adeline, wirewalker, the great desert Arab troupe of acrobats. ■ • The box plans are at Miss Blake t sweet shop.
