Very interesting and dose p'r.y resulted in a tennis tourney at Maraia on Saturday between members of the Sportsdate (Stratford) ind Mariam Tennis Clubs. The former won 11 sets to 8 and 140 games to liT. Details of the play were as follow, Manaia players being first mentioned:— Ladies’ singles.—Miss Hilles beat Miss Wright 7 —3 : Miss Rees bea/ Miss North. 7—3; Miss/Bell beat Miss Spence. 7—3 ; 'Miss Putt beat Mi s Irwin, 7—l.
