The New Zealand swimmer I*. W. I Cameron (Wellington) was fourth in I | the 100 yards State championship 1 swim in the Domain baths last night. I The race resulted: Cecil _ Light (Sydney) 1, D. Wilson (Bondi) 2, F. Doyle * (Sydney) 3, I. W. Cameron (N.Z.) 4. Other starters were A. Besmomo, holder of the title, and H. Robertson. At 75 yards Cameron seemed a certain winner, hut Light and Wilson pushed forward and fought out a great finish, Avith the others hard upon them. Light, by a wonderful dash in the last 15 yards, landed a winner by a yard. The others finished in a bunch. The time was 57 l-ssec. In the half-mile women’s sAvimming •championship of New South Wales at Coogee. Edna Bavey (Sydney) won from L. Joubert (Lismore) and P. Perry (Manly) by 65 yards in 12min 49 3-ssec. Her time for 500 yards was 7min 7sec, which was 1 l-ssec better than Fanny Dnrack’s Australian record. Edna’s time for the full distance, however, was 19sec slower than her oAvn Australian record. WELLINGTON POSTPONEMENT. WELLINGTON, Jan. 12. The Wellington Centre swimming championships were postponed because of rain last night. .
