SWIMMING
ACROSS KAWHIA HARBOUR. MISS COBBLESTONE'S FEAT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.j TE KUITI, J an. 8. In accordance with her expressed intention before the holidays, Miss Lily Gopplestone, of Christchurch, who lias been spending the holidays at Kawliia, swam the Kawhia harbour on Monday during a regatta. Entering the water at a point near Temaika she struck a current at the commencement that carried her out of her course. She was accompanied by escorts and followed in a dinghy. Miss Gopplestone said she did not feel cold, but she was apprehensive of sharks, which were reported to have been seen in the harbour recently. Though out of training, Miss Copplcstone accomplished liei' task easily, and was feeling fit at the end of her swim.
