SOUTH TARANAKI FIGURES. REGISTRATIONS LAST MONTH. The town and district vital statistics for the month of December show that there were eight more births than for December, 1928, an equal number of marriages and a decrease in the number of deaths. For the year, births show an increase of 36, while there were 17 more marriages, than in 1928. The number of deaths this year exceeds last year’s total by 22. The registrations for the month are as follow: Hawera.—Births, 25 (15); deaths, 7 (8); marriages, 10 (6). Manaia.—Births, 2 (5) deaths, 1 (0) ; marriages, 2 (0). Kaponga.—Births, 5 (6); deaths, 1 (3); marriages, I (4). Qpunake. —Births, 6 (2); deaths. 0 (0) ; marriages, 2 (0). Patea. —Births, 2 (9) ; deaths, 1 (1); marriages, Q (1).
