FATHER’S EFFORTS UNAVAILING. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received 12.30 p.m. to-day. SYDNEY, Dec. 21. A tragic affair occurred at Kempsey. W. Mainey’s two sons, aged ten and seven, got into difficulties when paddling in the MacLeay River, and the father dashed' to the rescue. He brought one out and placed him on a sandbank and returned for the second boy, but was unable to find. him. Upon coming back .for the first boy he found that he had been washed into deep water again and! drowned. Both bodies were recovered.
