On March 21, 1928, the Mayor of Chicago, Mr, William Hale Thompson, won his six months fight against “proBritish propaganda,” when the Chicago Board of Education resolved by three votes to two to remove William McAndrew, Superintendent of Schools, from his position. The board held that all the charges of pro-British propaganda were sustained.
