Considering weather conditions, attendances at both afternoon and evening sessions of the Hawera Methodist rose -andi -sweet pea show, held] in the AYinter Show Buildings- yeaberda.y, were- good. An atraetive display -of rhododendrons and rose blooms was exhibited by Air C. Goodson. Points prizes were allotted ais follow: Silver rose howl, presented by Alessrs Blia-ir l and- Sellar, for rose classes.—Airs D. Alourie- (Opunaike). Jubilee rose bowl, presented by Alisa D. Swadling, for six distinct named varieties of roses (local competition).— Airs J. Quin (Hawera). Having- won the trophy three times in succession.,-it is now Airs Quin’s absolute property, t Silver enp, presented by Alessrs Bennett and Sutton, for sweet peas'.—Airs F. Cook (Stratford). Silver cup, presented' by Mr W. G. Manly, for cut flowers. —-Airs D. Alouri-e-Silver cup, presented by Mrs E. A. Pacey. for pansy classes.—Airs D> Alourie. . . Grecian brass vase, for iris classes. — Alias Miary Thomson (Hawera). Silver rose bowl, presented by Mass D. Swadling, for decorative classes. — Airs Scott (Whakamara). Air E.
