DESTRUCTIVE FIRE

HOTEL RAZED TO GROUND. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) TAUMARUNUI, Nov. 15. Fir© at 3 o’clock this morning at Owhango resulted in the destruction of three buildings. The fire commenced at tbe rear of the Commercial Hotel, an 18-roomed building, and spread rapidly to an adjoining empty shop and dwelling of five rooms, and to a six-roomed dwelling occupied by A. Johnston. In the absence* of a water supply and fire-fighting appliances the three premises mentioned were totally destroyed. The blaze spread so rapidly that Mr Johnston escaped with only a few personal effects. The hotel was unoccupied, being renovated.
