Sutherland of Victoria University College, New’ Zealand, read a paper upon the intelligence of the Maori. He repot tec that a study of the native Maoris intelligence in comparison with that or whites in no way supported the belief in race traits as the mam influence upon culture. He stated that he could find nothing to support the theory that there was an intrinsic difference between the primitive and the civilised mind. He had found that the Maori argued as logically as the white thinker once lie was familiar with the premises.
