IMPORTANT DISCOVERIES
REVEALED

With eight cancer-infected mice, from the Melbourne laboratory as subjects, Dr. Thomas Cherry to-day read a, paper on experimental cancer before* members of the medical, congress. He revealed a, number of important discoveries one of which was that some cancers occurring naturally in mice could he transplanted into other > mice. Another discovery was that chronic irritation of the skin bv tar and other substances would produce an epithelioma in r-hbits and mice and other animals. Such growths displayed all the characteristics of cancer in human beings. , ~ Dr Cherry alluded to the resemblance between experimental cancers and those in humanity and remarked that cancer and tuberculosis iu man had features which pointed to related causation.
