TWO FINES IMPOSED.
BREACHES OF GAMING ACT. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) GISBORNE!, Aug. 19. The Magistrate’s Court was crowded to capacity this morning when four well-knowh citizens appeared on charges of breaking the Gaming Act. Arthur Owen was charged with using premises in Hallenstein’s Buildings ns ai common gaming house, and Rutene Takina. Cornelius Patterson and Samuel Bardwell were charged with frequenting the street for the purposes of betting. Owen, who pleaded guilty, was fined £IOO and costs, and Takina was, fined £2-5. Informations- against Bardwell and Patterson were dismissed.
