LABORATORY FOR WAIKATO.
In the House- of Representatives this week -the question of establishing -a held laboratory was referred to by Mr J. A. Young, the member for Hamilton (says the “Times”). The reply received from the Minister of Agriculture was to the effect that full and careful consideration is being given to ■the matter. The claims made by Mr Yeung limit no other part of the Dominion offered close at hand so large a field for clinical study and pathological research among dairy cattle as did this district, can be amply substantiated. With such a highly developed institution as the Ruakura Farm of Instruction in the district, the starting off point is already available. The importance of a laboratory situated in this district has been fully presented to the responsible officers of the Government and it is hoped ‘before long the efforts launched far the establishment of such an institution will reach fruition.
