LORRY DRIVER INJURED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.; WELLINGTON, Aug. 13. With the lorry ho was driving William Edwin, a cartage contractor, wonl over an 80-foot bank on the Horokiwi Road, Lower lint t-, hut miraculously escaped death, though receiving minor injuries necessitating hospital treatment. The lorry was badly damaged. INJURED BY EXPLOSION.

WELLINGTON, Aug. 13. David Cherry, employed by the Public* Works Department, while using a pick at the summit of the Rimutalcas. struck a plug of gelignite, which exploded, injuring him in the fa-e, neck, antis and right eye, pausing concussion and shock. He was brought to Wellington Hospital.
