THE EX-KAISER.
POSITION AS TO RE-ENTERING GERMANY. (United Press Association—By Klect-ric Telegraph Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.) Received 9.45 a.m to-day. BERLIN, July 18. Hohenzollern circles insist that the ex-Kaiser does not desire to re-enter Germany, unless at the request of the majority of the people, which is improbable. Lawyers are of the opinion that nothing in the old law could have prevented the Kaiser’s re-entry, subject, naturally, first to obtaining Diitcli permission to leave Doom. In this last p-oint the strongest safeguard lies. SAFEGUARDING THE REPUBLIC. PROVISIONS AGAINST EXKAISER’S RETURN. Received 10.45 a.m., to-day. BERLIN, July 18. The new Safeguarding the Republic Bill does not include a special clause forbidding the Kaiser’s return, as hitherto. It is explained that there are ample other ways of achieving this safeguard.
