KAPONGA TOWN CLERK.
MR G. P. COOK RESIGNS. In April last Mr G. 'P. Cook intimated to the Kaponga Town Board his desire to relinquish the position of town clerk so soon as the position of the board’s affairs 'permitted of such a stop being taken. Continued illhealth made it necessary for him to seek a change of environment. At the monthly meeting of the board, held last evening, Mr Cook’s expressed intention took concrete form when, at the conclusion of .business, ihe tendered liis resignation with a request that a period be put upon his service. General regret at losing the clerk’s services was expressed by members, and ou the motion of Commissioners A. R. Bates and E. A. Law the resignation was accepted and it was resolved that Mr Cook’s tenure of office will terminate at the end of three weeks from date.
The clerk was instructed to immediately invite applications of candidates to fill the vacancy.
On expiration of his term of service Mr Cook intends making a health-re-cruiting trip.
