RUNNING AND CYCLING. HANDICAPS FOR, THURSDAY. Thursday wall be a noteworthy day in Ivapoiiga. A capital programme iias been arranged and entries received promise excellent fields in aIL events. The finishes are certain to he keen and good. The list of trophies shows the keen interest taken by the people of the town and district. The list includes the following: Mr. T. B. Merson, threemile cycle; Mr. J. J. Davison, two-mile cycle; Athletic Club, one-mile cycle; Mr. J. Hessell, hall-mile cycie; Mr. M. C. Twist, maiden cycle; Mr. R. I. Hammonds, one and a half mile youths’ cycle; Mr. C. Crowley, one mile local boys’ cycle; Mr. C. E. Morrissey, youths’ 100 yards; Mr. J. Brisco, youths’ 220 yards; Mr. It. E. McGregor one mile. In addition, there is Mr. 8. Lissaman’s cup as a points prize for running events, and Mr. i). R. F. Malone’s cup as a points prize for the open cycling events.
