AUROA.
(From a Correspondent.) SPORTS CLUB. A large and representative gathering of ladies met at the local halt on Tuesday afternoon to finalise catering arrangements for the forthcoming sports at Auroa. Owing to the chairman (Mr Bradford) not being able to attend, Mr,s "West proposed and Mrs Deegan seconded that Mrs Bradford take the chair. All detailed arrangements were planned to ensure the success and enjoyment of the sports. There should be a record attendance at both the sports and at the grand dance, to be held in the evening. PERSONAL. Miss Kissick, of New Plymouth, is the guest of her sister, Mrs J. O’Deu, and Mr O’Dea, and is renewing old friendships in South Taranaki. Some little time ago Miss Kissick had a very pleasant and interesting trip to the United States, where she spent three months in touring these parts. DAIRYING. The local branch of Job’s Dairy Company has started the manufacture of sta udand ised cheese. Considering the dryness of the weather, the local milk supply has kept up remarkably well. The present rain is very much appreciated by the farmers.
