FIREWORKS IN SPAIN.

CONSPIRACY CHECKED PROMPTLY. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.) MADRID, Jan. 30.

The Dictator, General de Rivera, caused a sensation in the National Astsembly to-day by declaring that a conspiracy had been discovered, due to begin throughout Spain .on the previous night. It failed completely except at Ciudad Real, a town 100 miles south of the Capital, where an artillery regiment placed guns in the streets, took possession of the lines of communication, and .stopped the trains. The Government despatched aeroplanes to scatter proclamations and calm reigned throughout the country. Later the Director of Railways announced that the train service to Ciudad Real had been resumed. The Dictator said order had been restored in the town.
