NORTHERN DISTRICT INCREASE.

FIGURES FROM MOTUROA.

The increased dairy production in the North Taranaki district this season is indicated by the receipt at the grading stores of the Producers’ Freezing Works Company at Mot-uroa of 136,466 boxes of butter and 131,618 orates of cheese over the period commencing on June 30 and ended on January 12. The total of butter and cheese represents about 14,626,4001bs of fat, _ or an increase approximately of 5 per cent, over the corresponding period of the 1927-28 season. While the returns .show a decline in the amount of butter manufactured, there is a marked increase in the production of cheese. The. monthly returns- supplied from the grading stores are : BUTTER'.
