The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated January 11, advising Smitlifiold delivered prices averaged for week ending that date as follow: . New Zealand wethers and maidens. —Canterbuiy quality, selected brands, 561 b and under, 7d; 57 to 641 b, 63d; 65 to 721 b, GJd. Other brands: 561 b and under, 6Jd; 57 to 641 b, 6Jd; 65 to 721 b, 64d. New Zealand lambs.— Canterbury quality (old season), 361 b and under, 9|d; 37 to 421 b, 9)d; 43 to 501 b, not quoted; seconds, Bd. Selected brands (new season), 361 b and' under, lid; 37 to 421 b, lid. Other brands (first quality, old season), 361 b and under, not quoted; 37 to 421 b, hot quoted; second quality, 30 to 321 b, average 7£d. Australian lambs. —Victorian, _ first quality, 361 b and under, 9d; 37 to 421 b, 9 l-Bd. Argentine lambs. —First quality, 361 b and -under, 8-Jd; 37 to- 4.21 b, Bfd. New Zealand beef. —Ox fores, not quoted. Baconers, 121 to 1801 b, 7d. Lamb market. —There is a slow demand for new season’s lamb owing to lower competitive price, Australian and South American lamb, and also to good supplies Home-killed. Mutton market.—Light-weight wethers and ewes firmer. Beef market. —Fair / trade despite low prices Argentine chilled beef. New Zealand porker pigs..—Better prices, with good consumptive demand.
