MEMBERS ENJOYING A REST. DAMAGE TO HUT EE A RED. Wireless to “New York Times.” BAY OF WHALES, Jan. 12. Tli© expedition is amid a bad snowstorm. It is with much difficulty that the ship was prevented from being blown away from the icefield to - which it was secured with anchors. The men ashore are safe and snug in tents, but it is feared that the walls of the house which was only half erected will be blown down.
During the storm the visibility is almost nothing. At four o’clock this morning, when the storm approached, the dog teams were unharnessed and everybody told to take a much needed rest until the storm was over._ So they are in tents inside their reindeer sleeping bags while a temporary kitchen has been set up consisting of canvas and food boxes. Tbe Eleanor Bolling’s ‘ departure from New Zealand has been delayed at least two days. Mr. Brophy, who- is in charge there, says the expedition truly has reason to be thankful for the excellent . equipment he has secured.
