(From Our Own Correspondent). PATE'A BOWLERS’ SUCCESSES. 1 KEESING CUP AND GIBSON BANNER.. During the past week two rinks from the Patea Bowling Club have been successful in winning from the Waverley Club, two very fine trophies, in the Keesing Cup and the Gibson Banner. The Keesing Cup, which is one of the most coveted and handsome trophies in the district, was won by the later rink consisting of A, T. Christensen, A. P. Defargy, C. Sheehan and W. Paterson, by 22 points to 14. The Gibson Banner was also wrested from the Waverley Club by the narrow margin of one point by a rink consisting of A. Christensen, J. Dempsey, P. Bourke and AY. Paterson. NEAV, PLYMOUTH TOURNAMENT, The Patea Bowling Club will be le- • presented by two rinks at the forthcoming tourney at New Plymouth. The rinks will consist of the following players : AY. White, A. Delargey, P. Bourke, AY. Paterson, AY. Parsons, JR. Scown, AY. G. Glenny and C. Sheahan. . MOTOR OAR. AFIRE. A Ford motor car belonging to a Hawera resident and proceeding to Hawera from Wanganui caught fire at the foot of Redford Street Hill one evening last week. The local fire brigade were quickly on the scene and soon extinguished the fire, not, however, before considerable damage had been done. The fire originated under the bonnett of the machine and soon gained a strong hold, completely destroying the hood, upholstery, and wiring. PERSONAL. Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Findlay and family, in company . with Miss HA Southcombe and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert l and family, left this week on a motor camping tour of the North Island. Mr. Hunter is at present Mr. H. A. Findlay, manager of the local branch of the Bank of Australasia. Mr. Loftus, of the managing stall of the Bank of New South Wales, is releiving Mr. A. H. Herbert, who is on holiday. , , Mr. and Mrs. AY. Hayward, of Auckland, are the guests of Mrs. F. W. Locker at the Patea beach. Mr. A. Delargey, manager of the Bank of New Zealand, . is- at presenton annual holiday, and is being relllieved by Mr. Leys.
