R.yburn and j AV. AV. Avery (secretary). The secretary of the Taranaki Education Board advised the granting of a subsidy of £OS 7s 6d for ground improvements. Tlie chairman pointed that a grant of £65 was made by the, board twelve months ago for the erection of a fence at the new school, but the matter had been held over in consequence of other work. The committee had been agitating for the erection ol; the fence for fully” three years, and, as the money was available, he. saw no. reason for further delay in the matter. Tlie secretary stated that the question of installing wash basins at the infant school had been referred to the board’s architect with power to act, and Mr A., Lees had been deputed to confer with- the hoard’s architect in reference to provision of extra -rooms at the main school. The unsatisfactory' heating system which had been in operation for four years formed the subject of comment. The chairman said the system was satisfactory at the infant school, hut m his opinion the circulation of the water was on too- extensive a- scale -and failed to throw off sufficient heat at any distance from the furnace.—-The secretary was instructed to- communicate with the board’s architect on the subject. A statement submitted by the secretary showed a credit bank balance ox £SO. The dental nurse (Miss H.
