At the Police Court at New Plymouth yesterday a charge was heard against Michael Bede Maher, solicitor, of Hawera, that he had failed for the space of three months to have his trust account for the year ended March 31, 1928, audited hy"a qualified public accountant, says the Taranaki “Herald.” Formal evidence that the account had not been audited was given by Chas. H. Rogers, solicitor employed in the Crown "Law Office, and that the defendant was ostensibly practising in Hawera as a solicitor during the year ended March 31, 1928. by L. A. Taylor, solicitor. The defendant did not appear and was not represented. Mr. F. S. Grayling appeared for the Solici-tor-General. The magistrate (Mr. R. W. Tate) imposed the minimum fine of £SO.
