AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
$ PATEA CLUB. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of the Patea* Athletic Glub was held recently, ( when there was a good attendance of members. The acting-secretary furnished a report upon the past season’s activities and stated that the olulb had a. credit balance of £2. This was considered quite satisfactory, as the club had had a very expensive season. The chairman, Mr P. J. Finlayson, moved the adoption' of the report and balance-sheet. The motion was unanimously carried. The election of officers for the new season resulted: Patron, Air H. G. Dickie, M.P.; president, Mr P. J. Finlaysoin; vice-presidents, Dr W. T. Simmons, Messrs F. Ramsbottom, J. D. Padrwcather, W. R. Morse, E. Woiolwright, J. Paterson, A. T. Christensen, G. Thorburn, and Captain Tunney; secretary, Air G. S. Fraser; assistant secretary, Air F. S. Spooner; committee, Afcssrs 11. \V. Haddow, L. Adams, R. Moore, J. and P. O’Grady, H. S. Pauling, A. Partridge, F. S. McKenna, G. Morse, E. Cousins; handica.pper, Mr C. Gardiner; field event handicapper, Air F. S. AlcKeuna; delegate to centre, Air G. Benson; horn, auditor, Air F. T. Ray. It was decided to hold a meeting on Boxing Day, and a. sub-committee con-
sisting of Messrs Haddow, Gardiner and Adams was appointed to arratnge a programme. It was decided to write to the Patea Brass Band to ask their assistance on. the sports day. As regards highland events being included on this year’s programme, it seems that there is every possibility ■ that events of this class will ibe inI eluded on the programme.
