MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING

HAWERA CLUB v, R.S.A.

A large number of enthusiasts attended the Hjawera Miniature Rifle range last- evening, when the returned soldiers tendered the club members a return visit and- no stone was left unturned in their efforts to make the evening a success in every way. Supper was dispensed by the R.S.A. members, and above all the sportsmanship and spirited competition, coupled with excellent shooting on both sides made the evening one to be remembered as a night of real enjoyment. At the conclusion of the match, the president, Mr. E. J, Booth, expressed his sincere thanks on behalf of the rifle club, for the manner in which the returned soldiers had entertained the members and hoped that wheu the range opened again next season, there would be many more visits from tlie members of the R.S.A.

Mr. S. R. Yeitch, on behalf of the return soldiers, thanked the members of the Miniature Rifle Club for their warm welcome, and the good match, which had resulted in. a win for the club by a margin of 27 points. Mr. Yeitch remarked that he would try and arrange more visits next year, as Mr. Booth had suggested. Everybody had enjoyed themselves thoroughly during the evening, and the calling of three cheers for both sides terminated a most successful competition. The following are the scores and names of the competitors.
