ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
DEATH OF A STOKEB. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 14The Circumstances which led to the . death of Stoker Gvril William Nesbit, aged 22, of H.M-.S. Dunedin, between Upper Hult't and Tren'tliam ealrly on ithe morning of October 30, were inquired into by Mr Page, S.M. The evidence ■showed that samp' men had been aft a local hotel and on their wary batak to •camp at Trenthaim deceased become •drowsy and lay down on the road. His companion!, Leading tSoke.r Toy, sat down beside him, arad loiter both were .struck by a motor lorry. The deceased was taken to the police station and then to a doctor. In finding that the deceased wals accidentally killed by being run over by a anotor. lorry, Mr Page said that the loTyy was badly lighted and did mot comply with the regulations. He was not satisfied, however, that even! with good lights, the. accident could (have been avoided, for the two 1 men were in t dark blue uniforms and were not moving and would have been hard to pick up.
