DEFIED THE POLICE.
WANTED MAN ARMED WITH BOMBS. THRILL'S FOR- INDIAN 'CROWD. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) —United Service). Received 9.40 a.m. to-day. DELHI, Nov. 9. Standing on the roof of a house with bombs in one hand and a dagger in the other, a Mohammedan surgeon at Meerut, in the presence of a eTOwd of several thousands, defied the police. He had quarrelled with liis wife, and went with ten bombs to the house where he was staying. 'On the way he met a brother-in-law whom lie blew to pieces. He threw other bombs, slightly injuring his wife and a small son. Then he barricaded himself in the house and in reply to a challenge to surrender, hurled more bombs injuring several in the crowd. He was utlimatelv shot in the leg by a constable and the surgeon was arrested and admitted to hospital, where 'lie is recovering from an overdose of opium.
