M. POINCARE ACCEPTS THE TASK, (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) (“Times” Cables.) Received 1.40 p.m. to-day. PARIS, Nov. 9. After the President had consulted for several days with t-ho leaders of all parties, Tie lastly -conferred with AI. Poincare for nearly two hours to-day, at the conclusion of which M. Poincare accepted the task of trying to form a Government, the -President allowing him to issue a statement setting forth the circumstances. Thus M. Poincare was enabled to point out. that he was still of -the opinion that the Government must be a coalition of the largest parties, ibut the Socialists Radicals congress sit. Angers showed that, they had failed to appreciate the necessity for a National Government. He would endeavour, however, to form ia Government inspired by true Republican principles. -AI, Poincare Warned the country that if resistance to the -Parliament Finance 'Committee continued, notably upon the naval and military estimates, no Government would last lo|iger than a few weeks. PARIS, Nov. 9. The expected has happened, M. Poincare has accepted President Doumergue’s invitation to form a new Ministry. A communique from the President sets out. that M. Poincare will seek to form a “Ministry of Republican concord,’’ which is almost, equivalent to a Government of national union. The Ministry is expected to be composed of the most prominent leaders, regardless of party affiliations, with the probable exception of the four who had resigned. The Radicals Socialists Ministers, after a conference with M. Poincare, immediately negotiated a scries of conferences witl» the leaders, which are continuing to-night. At. Poincare’s decision follows oil the almost unanimous Press appeal to sacrifice personal inclinations on the grounds of -patriotic need.
