The Rev. H. Orchard, of Alanaia, who has been attending the TaranakiWanganui Methodist District Synod, returned home yesterday. Air. Orchard is now making a good recovery after a long indisposition through influenza. The late Air F. E. Cud by, who- died this week. was a resident of no less than forty-five years standing, and had been all) that time in the -boot and shoe business. Years ago hje wa-s -an active member of the Hawera Fire Brigade, and was on the Licensing Bench for some years. He came to Hawera from the Lower Hutt (Wellington) where the Cu-dby family had been settled since the very earliest -days of the Dominion. .
