SOUTH TARANAKI FIGURES. OCTOBER REGISTRATIONS. Vital statistics for the month of October as recorded in South Taranaki show oi decrease in both, births and deaths and a, slight increase in the number of marriages as compared with the same month of last year. Particulars of registrations in October of this year at the various centres, with corresponding figures for October, 1927, shown in parentheses, are as follow:
Hawera. —Births', 19 (27) : deaths, 5 (5); marriages, 4 (5). Eltham. —Births, 11 (7); deaths, -1 (2); marriages, nil (nil). Patea.—Births, 5 (8); deaths, 1 (5); marriages, 1 (1). Kaponga.—Births, 3„(6); deaths, nil (nil); marriages, nil (nil). Manniia. —Births, 6 (5); deaths, 1 hid ; marriages, 2 (1). Opunake.—Births. 6 (3) ; deaths*, nil n ; l i*. marriages, 2 (1). Waverley.—Births, 4 (4); deaths, nil 3 ■ marriages, nil (nil). Totals. —Births 54 (60) ; deaths. 11 16) : marriages, 9 (8).
